I’m truly sad about the sudden death of Professor Patrick Turner and would like to add one little known story about his recent activities in Estonia.
In 2006 when Patrick was being paid to assist entrepreneurs in Iceland I managed to convince him to stop-off in Tallinn Estonia, en route, and provide a training programme for an embryonic, small business start-up programme.
The Estonian government and Estonian Enterprise found some EU money from their European Commision allocation and paid Patrick to assist Estonians to create ‘AJUJAHT’ or Brainhunt, a business start-up competition.
Thanks to Patrick, Ajujaht was so successful it soon managed to stand on its own and last year over 400 start-ups were competing, via Ajujaht, this in a country the size of Wales with a population of 1.2 million.
Patrick was a larger than life inspiration to many of us and his early death ensures we shall appreciate his contribution to all of our lives.
